Over the past fifteen years there has been a continuous interplay between ocean wave forecasting and altimeter sea state products resulting in improvements in both. Altimeter sea state data are presently used in the wave height analysis and wave forecast verification, in the monitoring of the quality of the modelled surface wind and in obtaining a global wave height and wind speed climatology.}, year = {2008}, journal = {ECMWF Technical Memoranda}, number = {552}, pages = {37}, month = {02/2008}, publisher = {ECMWF}, url = {https://www.ecmwf.int/node/10242}, doi = {10.21957/kib9l9ii6}, language = {eng}, }
