First, sensitivity studies of the UV surface irradiance and Erythemal Dose Rate to the spectral resolution, to the representation and atmospheric contents of ozone and aerosol, and to the surface albedo are performed. Comparison of model UV with surface observations and the impact on UV surface flux of some recent ozone minima are used to illustrate the potential usefulness of the UV processor.
