Summary:

Baudouin Raoult is Principal Software Strategist/Architect. He joined the ECMWF in 1989. Since then, he has been responsible for the architecture and the development of ECMWF meteorological archive system, a multi-petabyte repository of meteorological data. He has also led key ECMWF projects such as the development of a tool for supervision, monitoring and scheduling that controls the ECMWF operational production system, the design of a data manipulation language, the implementation of a web based catalogue browsing and data retrieval system and the development of an OGC compliant system for delivering on-demand graphical products. He is currently involved in several projects, ranging efficient handling of NPW model output of high-performance computers, to a cloud-based distributed climate data repository that also provides users with big data analytics tools. He is member of several WMO expert teams.
