Summary:

Sylvie Lamy-Thepaut leads the Web Development team activities. The team develops and maintains web services to offer users easy access the ECMWF forecast outputs as data or through visualisations.

- These services make use of a common web framework which allows ECMWF to easily extend the number of services offered.

- The services include an highly interactive real-time visualisation tool, called ecCharts, which is used by forecasters across Europe.

- Web services supported include an OGC WMS and various web APIs to request data from ECMWF archive.

Sylvie develops also the graphical package Magics, an open source software specialised in the visualisation of Meteorological data.

Magics is the graphical kernel of ecCharts and Metview. It provides an easy-to-use python interface to visualise data in BUFR, GRIB or NetCDF.
