Standard commercial licence (Real-time data)

What does it allow you to do?

You can use the forecast products for your own internal purposes and to deliver value added services to end users and broadcasters only, if the original products can be retrieved easily or their use can be identified unambiguously. You can use the forecast products to deliver value added services to any class of customer, if the original products cannot be retrieved easily and their use cannot be identified unambiguously. How much does it cost?

What does it allow you to do?

You can use the charts for your own internal purposes. For further details please see the full licence agreement:

Maximum charge commercial licence (Real-time data & charts)

What does it allow you to do?

You can use the forecast products for your own internal purposes and to deliver value added services to end users and broadcasters only, if the original products can be retrieved easily or their use can be identified unambiguously.   • Access to our charts and online tools (ecCharts) to create your own customised charts. Please note that the range of charts available will be adjusted in the light of experience and in response to the evolution of the forecasting system.
  • 24/7 data dissemination support.
  • Office hours support for schedule change requests.
  • Manage your own data transmission with ECPDS.
  • Delivery by FTP over the internet.

The price for a maximum charge commercial licence is 140,000 EUR/Year (+ delivery charges).

NMHS Non-commercial licence (Real-time data & charts)

What does it allow you to do?

You can use the forecast products to fulfil national governmental obligations related to the protection of life and property.
You can use the forecast products for Research Projects and Educational Use, provided that any such activity is carried out strictly on a non-commercial basis. For further details please see the full licence agreement:

This type of licence is subject to the payment of handling charges, which may be waived at the discretion of ECMWF.

Satellite data providers licence (Real-time data)

What does it allow you to do?

You can use the forecast products for satellite data processing only. For further details please see the full licence agreement:

How much does it cost?

This service is provided in exchange for satellite observations. The satellite observations will be used by ECMWF in its operational forecasting system.

Do I qualify for this licence?

This licence agreement is available only to Space Agencies and other satellite data producers.

Archive data licence

What does it allow you to do?

You can use the archive products (excludes real-time data) for research and education purposes and for commercial activities.

  • Real-time data
  • "Valid" forecasts" (past forecast for a time in the future - please check with Data services if you are not sure)

 

How much does it cost?

You can subscribe to direct access to the ECMWF meteorological archive at the cost of 5,000 GBP/Year. We might elect to wave this fee on a case by case basis.
